A Smorgasborg Of Antioxidents On Veggie Pizza

Choose a thin crust. A thick tomato base made of finely diced Roma tomatoes, seasoned with basil and spread thinly over the crust is a good start. The tomatoes are loaded with vitamins A and C, which are good for your skin. Tomatoes are also high in lycopene, which is also antioxidant. Antioxidants help prevent cancer. Now think of all the veggies you can put on a pizza. Onions and garlic are both antibacterial and promote good immune system response, helping to prevent colds and such. Olives belong on any pizza, while providing cholesterol free oil. Mushrooms are just plain tasty. Red, yellow and orange sweet bell peppers add a festive look, lots of fiber and have plenty of beta-carotene, another antioxidant.
