Although the majority of phone users around the world wouldn't dream of being out of contact for even a heartbeat, there are still some of us who aren't phone freaks! For example, most of the cell phone companies have complicated plans involving a myriad of calling situations and associated allotted minutes. Land line phone companies usually give the customer an option whereby only local calls are permitted, at a reduced monthly cost. The consumer who makes infrequent calls can't justify the monthly expense of a cell phone calling plan. The customer who just wants a regular land line phone at minimal expense is faced with the dilemma of not being able to make a long distance call on the odd occasion, or paying extra for that infrequent privilege.
