Animal Trackers
When I was a kid, I had an animal track guide poster up on my wall. I had grown up on stories of animal trackers – hunters and naturalists living off of their wits in the great outdoors. Some of these were fiction, but a lot of them were true stories passed on by my grandpa – an animal tracker himself. He had spent much of his childhood years hunting wild game as a way to supplement the meager farm land that his family owned. He knew all of the tracks of the animals, and used the poster to try to teach me a few things. Of course, the best animal trackers are the ones who spend the most time in the great outdoors. My grandfather took me out tracking a few times, but he never really was able to take me past the most basic lessons.
