Advantages and Disadvantages Voltage Stabilizer
As the name suggests, solid state voltage stabilizers use electronic components and switches to correct the voltage. There are no moving parts in static voltage stablizers. Since there are no moving parts, the response time to correct the voltage is very low.
Static voltage stabilizers cannot handle huge variations of input voltage. When the variation is too high, the output voltage is also affected. Though the correction of voltage is almost instant, the variation on the output is as high as 5% to 15% – even when the input variation is nominal. Hence these voltage stabilizers are not recommended for the protection of sensitive equipments.
