Christmas has been over for a few weeks now and I’m still driving around my town and seeing Christmas lights being displayed. I don’t mind the pretty little white lights that I actually think could be appropriate for the winter season. I do mind the little colored blinking lights that should have been taken by now. I have been told, more than once, that Christmas lights can stay up for the entire month of January, not just December. Okay, if that is the case – I’m thinking that by February 1st, they should all be packed away in tangled balls for next December. Even worst than seeing Christmas lights this many weeks after the holiday has passed, is seeing the giant Santas and reindeer in people’s yards. One of my neighbors enjoys littering their entire yard and rooftop with tons of decorations for the season. I personally couldn’t be paid enough money to put any of it on my property, but to each their own. This yard still displays a Santa, a reindeer, candy canes, North Pole signs and tons of other things that aren’t just for winter, they are all about Christmas. The most humorous part though is that they still have the giant sleigh on top of their roof lit up every single night. I can’t even imagine what their electric bill is right now. I am tempted to take all of it down and put it on their front porch.

Floral centerpieces are usually used for table settings for special occasions, such as the winter holiday season celebrations. Creating a centerpiece helps set the mood as we sit down to dinner. Making a floral centerpiece that creates that festive ambience is an art. Here we've got a few tips on centerpieces that are beautiful, encourage lively conversation and subtly, but substantially, contribute to a happy gathering. You first want to think about your seating arrangements. If you're hosting a sit-down dinner, you don't want to have a tall vase of flowers which obscures the view of any of your guests. It's hard to hold a conversation with the person opposite you at the table which requires that you peer around a vase in order to talk to that person.

Windmill History is as Old as the Hills. European Windmills adorn the landscape of most countries. Whether they're in ruins of fine fettle, they are always a welcome sight to any landscape. Although school history will tell us that windmills were made famous in Holland, they didn't actually originate from there. In fact the earliest windmills ever have been discovered in Asia of all places. These attractive constructions have been the workhorses of many a land for generations, and what's more, they provided green energy. Nowadays, we're seeing new technology being used with twenty first century windmills used to generate electricity. Very practical, and extremely environmentally friendly, but hardly the attraction of the originals. Many of the beautiful old constructions are being converted into prime real estate as entrepreneurs turn them into fine homes, holiday homes, and trendy restaurants.
My gang never used to have really good New Years Eve parties. No matter what happened, the party would usually be a disappointment. Sometimes we would try to get everyone together to go to a big New Years Event only to have it fall through at the last minute. The designated driver would get drunk early in the evening, someone's car would be in the shop, or we would even get the time of the event wrong. Other times, we would simply decide to have a quiet New Years Eve party at someone's house. It would work out alright, but than everyone would get maudlin and depressed, brooding and ruining the mood of new years.
