Although they are called Cold Air Return Vents, it does not mean that they waft cold air into a building. The inexpensive yet extremely effective products simply make an opening from the outside to the in. The only time a chill may be noticeable is when a gusty wind happens to be blowing right onto the side that the vent is located. Even if this doesn't happen, you simply close, or partially close the air return vent slats that cover it room-side. Generally speaking, these are placed low down the wall, usually just above the skirting board, and can be made to blend in to the surrounding décor so that they are not eye catching or obtrusive in any way. The most important reason for having air return vents is of course ventilation. These little home improvement products can be found in any DIY and local hardware stores. Installing them is almost as easy as shopping for them providing you're handy around the home. Air return vents can mean the difference between living in a damp, mildew ridden home that is dangerous to the health of you and your family, and a nice clean dry living space that has a good circulation of air.

We had a fantastic sailing holiday this summer and stayed away longer than we thought we would. We decided to sail around Thailand and absolutely loved it, we were in a flotilla and the other people with us had all been on the route before so it was great to have their experience and we found we really benefited from it. It was interesting to see Thailand from the water in comparison to seeing it from the land as we have done before. We were sailing for a total of 8 weeks and it was all perfect except for a brief spell when my husband was sick and we had to stay on land for almost a week. We were able to go on line from the boat to search for Thailand villas and found a nice bit of Thailand property to stay in to soften the blow of being ill and coming off the boat. Thailand villas are beautiful and we found that a lot of them had pools and were near the water. It made a difference to be in a bit of Thailand property that overlooked the sea which made us feel we were still with the flotilla in a strange sort of way! My husband recovered well and we were able to catch up with the flotilla in a couple of days. Being in the villa was nice and it was important for my husbands recovery but being back on the water was a relief, I have to say.
The single adjective which might best describe the current home buyer's market is 'volatile'. People who bought homes before the dot com bust, paid dearly, ultimately selling at a price far less than they paid. Early on in the Bush administration, we were apprised of the 'ownership society', where every American was able to realize the American dream. People went in droves to mortgage brokers offering inventive ways to put unqualified buyers into a home of their own. Now, we're seeing the results, in the form of all the properties up on foreclosure sales. The economy has definitely gone south, with new home construction starts down and properties standing empty all over the nation.

Windmill History is as Old as the Hills. European Windmills adorn the landscape of most countries. Whether they're in ruins of fine fettle, they are always a welcome sight to any landscape. Although school history will tell us that windmills were made famous in Holland, they didn't actually originate from there. In fact the earliest windmills ever have been discovered in Asia of all places. These attractive constructions have been the workhorses of many a land for generations, and what's more, they provided green energy. Nowadays, we're seeing new technology being used with twenty first century windmills used to generate electricity. Very practical, and extremely environmentally friendly, but hardly the attraction of the originals. Many of the beautiful old constructions are being converted into prime real estate as entrepreneurs turn them into fine homes, holiday homes, and trendy restaurants.
