Apparently, living to 100 yrs old no longer has the WOW factor that it once had in many a society. Why is this? There are many factors, but the reality is that many people from all countries and all walks of life are now getting to that grand old century birthday. So how is it done? There are a number of factors involved here. Education is one. People are now far more in tune with their bodies and know what to eat, what to avoid, and the importance of exercise fitness in addition to a good healthy diet of fresh foods of which include lean meats, fruits, vegetables, and various nuts.

But living a life of good health and with a positive attitude and outlook is not the full story. There are also others who have lived to 100+ yrs, yet abused their bodies for an entire lifetime with alcohol, various substances, fatty foods, and procrastination. So what’s their secret? Are these types’ just medical miracles? Well, there’s a degree of luck in here, but these types are usually sicker for longer than the other healthier folks of the same age, and are simply being kept alive with the help of modern medicine.

Here are some of the downsides to longevity. Pensions are being paid out for many more years longer than previous generations that used to die just a few years after retirement (generally speaking), and medical care is also costing governments a fortune. After all, if the resources are available thanks to research and technology, then a nation can hardly let its people die when it has the means to keep their ticker ticking. Some folks would sooner die in their late 70′s after a fulfilled life than go on for another 20 plus years with next to no quality in their every day existence.

None of us want to die, but we know we have to. After all, it’s as much a part of the life cycle as living is. Not any easy topic by any means, and different generations and societies will have different views on it. Debates a plenty can be found in online forums, but they won’t solve anything, but merely keep the topic in the limelight.

A healthy relationship is one which is open and loving, and by open, that simply means that anyone in that relationship feels they can talk to the other about anything, at any time, no matter what. It’s a lot better these days than it was in grandma’s generation where the men refused to discuss ‘women’s problems’ and many couples and families who lived under the same roof were in denial a lot of the time, lacked education in many areas of health related issues, and basically just didn’t communicate in the way that today’s families do. Dad was the man of the house, and Mum was the woman.

In the societies of a bygone age, Dad only spoke of manly things, and Mum spoke and did womanly things, and that’s just the way it was. A woman of just 4 generations ago would not have dreamed of asking her spouse if he knew of, or heard of any remedies for menopause, as an example. Such a difficult time for many women, this once taboo subject saw a lot of middle aged women go through hell alone, and that was not healthy for either body or mind, especially in those cases where it went of for a number of years. Thank the heavens it’s not like that today.

There are all kinds of support groups, products, services, and openness on any subject imaginable, and because of it, lives are being saved. Young British men used to die of embarrassment, literally, because they were too shy and ashamed to go see a doctor about lumps on their testicles. As a consequence, when the pain and discomfort got so bad that they no longer cared, it was often too late because the poor young chap had become riddled with testicular cancer thus meaning he had a terminal and incurable disease that could have been cured if treated in its infancy.

So both men and women of today have the opportunity to be healthier and fitter than at any time previous, and a lot of this is not only down to medical technology and know-how (including alternative medicine & treatments) , but openness and unashamed to seek help about any concern be it of body or mind. We’re living in times where the nation has never been so educated, but sadly many still chose to dig their own graves by overeating, smoking, drinking, and other addictions. The good side to all that is the opening for help should these obsessive types chose to take it.

The California Traffic School is setup to primarily help those who have been driving for some time to refresh their driving skills, both from a physical driving perspective and of the educational variety. It’s quite astounding how many so called ‘experienced’ drivers there are on the roads who are unable to identify certain and important traffic road signs. This is one of the causes of road accidents, a simple wrong move, or no move at all, simply because the motorist wasn’t quite sure what to when a certain sign was displayed, be it of the flashing, scrolling light type of signal, or a straightforward static traffic sign. As time progresses, so do new road laws get passed and the latest road signs get deployed around the nation’s highways and byways. Another use for the online type of California traffic school is that of fine reduction. When a motorist is stopped and penalised for some minor traffic offence, he or she is often given the option of getting that fine reduced somewhat should they agree to take a traffic course.

Ask any man or women who has lost their hair for whatever reason if they would pay for a product of service that is proven to Stop Hair Loss and you might be surprised at just how much they would be prepared to pay for such a cure. There is an absolute plethora of products and services that can be found when shopping on the high street or online, that all claim to restore lost hair. However, there is nothing new about these as such miracle cures have been pushed and promoted since man first started to invent lotions and potions, but the fact of the matter is they do not work for most people. If they did, why are there so many bald heads and receding hairlines in modern day society? Some products and services work for some people, but the majority don’t! Sadly, hair loss becomes somewhat of an obsession with many men, or perhaps the fixation is not so much the hair loss as the hair restoration. The point is this obsession can make them ill, cost them a small fortune over the years as they jump from one miracle cure to the next, and damage relationships with those closest too them. In other words, their health and daily functioning is jeopardised because they refuse to accept that which they cannot change. The best tip for any man losing his hair is that of acceptance. Keep a very short cut to that hair which remains, and get on with your life. Whatever you do, do grow it long where it still grows, and attempt to comb it over the areas where it’s gone! Well, you can if you like, but be prepared to be the butt of many cruel jokes and public sneers.

America has two principal federal disability programs, both managed by the Social Security Administration. They have so much work these days, 3 million new applications this year alone though, that figure is not as impressive as what is expected to be next year – 10% higher still; and they will all join more than 10 million citizens who already suffer disabilities and receive something in the region of $200 billion every year in payments. Consider the case of Jack O’Neill, a fifty-year-old worker at a logistics company in Miami; this hard-worker has been at this job for more than 20 years now, but his hopes of a steady paycheck began to dim when the repetitive motions he has to perform this job moving boxes around, took their toll on his back.

Racial profiling has been an issue for as long as racial tensions and prejudice have existed, but it was brought to center stage following the terrorist attacks of 9/11. After the destruction of the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, anti Middle Eastern sentiment became more prevalent and some individuals even lost their lives for being of Middle Eastern descent. Another consequence of terrorism was the tightening of airport security, which went so far as to forbid the transportation of liquids and to require passengers to take off their shoes for examination. Unfortunately this also led to the unofficial procedure of detaining passengers who looked like they were from the Middle East.

What’s the First Amendment? The freedom of speech, the press and religion, you’ll easily reply. The answer to that question might be an easy one, and so is the concept itself, but it’s a difficult question of providing these equal rights to all citizens without eliminating the very diversity that these rights are supposed to allow. Much, much easier said than done. Take any of these First Amendment concepts of freedom and you can come up with a situation that makes your head spin as you try to rectify or justify the morality of it. Freedom of speech—so everyone can say whatever they want to, including insulting or verbally abusing others. Freedom of the press—so everyone can say whatever they want to in print, including publishing slander.

Whether it’s the discrimination of race, religion, gender, sexuality or age, discrimination statistics can reveal what trends there are across the country, and what worries and hurdles we face collectively as a people. With the election of a black man as president of the United STates in November of 2008, many declared that this was a “post racial world,” meaning the struggles of blacks throughout the country’s history had all paid off, and that there was no longer cause to worry that there was any real discrimination in the United States.

The word, apology, signifies a statement that takes responsibility for something and is intended to obtain forgiveness from the one offended. Catholic apologetics certainly accepts responsibility for holding a belief, but attaches to that acceptance no apology for holding that belief. Quite to the contrary, Catholic apologetics asserts reasonable justification for holding a belief and would expect assent rather than dissent, honor rather than blame, for knowing the reason why a belief is held. Rather than a list of excuses for holding a belief, apologetics tends to convince non-Catholics of the soundness and reasonable of these beliefs through philosophical and theological arguments.
