2009 will be no different to all the New Years that went before it in that tens of thousands of men, women, and teens, will be making those New Year Resolutions with renewed monotony. Apart from stopping smoking, putting a plug in the alcoholic jug will perhaps be next to the number 1 slot of top ten personal declarations, or if not total abstinence, a promise to cut right down. Alas, most of these promises are pretty empty even though well intentioned, and although there may be a handful of renewed attempt to get a grip on the drinking game, most will see yet another attempt in 2010 and beyond. Those who recognise a more serious problem with their drinking may opt to attend Alcoholics Anonymous, and those who are too riddled with shame, remorse, and guilt, to walk into such places, may find themselves luring in the Rooms of Alcoholic Anonymous Online Meetings, which have done wonders at introducing alcoholics and potential alcoholics into the AA 12 step program of recovery.
